A note from the two people who started City Lifestyle: Steven Schowengerdt, who founded the company in Kansas City in 2009, and Matthew Perry, our president.

City Lifestyle started in 2009 with a single community magazine in Kansas City. The idea was simple: tell the stories of the people, places and businesses that make a community feel like home, and put them in the hands of the neighbors who live there.
Today that one publication has grown into more than 250 magazines in 39 states, with new communities joining every month. Each one is run by a local publisher who lives in the market, so the people telling the stories are the same people you see at the coffee shop and the Friday night game.
What began as print connecting communities with stories and local businesses has grown with the way people live. Readers find City Lifestyle on the coffee table, on CityLifestyle.com and in their social feeds, and local businesses can meet them in every one of those places through one partner: their local publisher.
Our mission all these years later remains the same: to inspire, instruct and uplift readers through articles, detailed and searchable listings of local businesses, and by sharing unique experiences and events in and around your town.
